Concerto A Sorpresa

Filarmonica TRT

Concerto a sorpresa is a much-loved format that has always engaged and excited the audience. The programme remains secret and is only revealed during the evening through an engaging and entertaining interaction with the audience. The conductor emeritus Gianandrea Noseda, close to the performance of the pieces, provides the listeners with some suggestions such as a historical or territorial background, technical notions or simply a brief description of the piece and then, after listening, reveals or confirms its author and title. Each surprise concert represents a journey of a cultural, geographical and above all emotional nature, a way of broadening horizons, setting aside any prejudices, finding the beautiful in the unexpected and the surprising in the discovery. A list of the pieces performed is distributed as you leave the hall at the end of the evening.

Born in Milan, Gianandrea Noseda is Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington and General Musik Direktor of the Zurich Opera House. Since 2019, he has been Music Director of the Tsinandali Festival in Georgia and of the Pan Caucasian Youth Orchestra, a project that brings together musicians from the troubled regions of the Caucasus. He is also Principal Guest Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra. He was Music Director of the Teatro Regio Turin, which brought a new international dimension, of the BBC Philharmonic and artistic director of the Stresa Festival. Attentive and available to support the new generations of musicians, for over a decade Gianandrea Noseda has regularly collaborated with the European Union Youth Orchestra, with which he has made important international tours.
