Choreographers Danae & Dionysios present on stage the result of their residency at Orsolina28. Built for six performers with live music, “ΔΡΑΚΟΣ-HYMN OF DECAY“(Drakos) explores two central themes: the ephemeral nature of existence and the solidarity that binds people together. Inspired by the Hellenic history and the archaeological sites of Greece, the work reflects on impermanence. Each passing minute marks a small ending, another step in the inevitable process of decay. Yet, as everything around us slowly collapses, the capacity to support one another emerges: we dedicate ourselves to others, carrying each other through life's inevitable fragility; we all bend and eventually we all fall, so that someone else may continue walking.
Then, Danae and Dionysos themselves step on the stage, bringing to life an excerpt of "Fάrιsa": inspired by the notion of pilgrimage as a simulation of the human journey through life, it was first presented at Orsolina28 in 2022.
The evening ends with a presentation by the students from the Intensive program dedicated to the repertoire of celebrated choreographer Maurice Béjart. During their time at Orsolina28, the students have worked closely with the company’s Artistic Director, Julien Favreau, alongside members of the artistic team
Elisabet Ros and Juichi Kobayashi. They share with the audience excerpts from two iconic works: "Ballet for Life", on the music of Queen, and "Boléro", on the notes of Ravel.
In line with our values of inclusion and accessibility, all of our presentations are open to the community at no cost (reservations are required and all donations are welcomed).
