Season '24

Orsolina28 Art Foundation ETS is pleased to announce the program for the 2024 Season, a series of shows resulting from multiple creation and training residencies.

Simony Monteiro, Artistic Director:
"This season confirms Orsolina28's role as an international center for creation and education, a place where nature and art influence and inspire each other"

Artistic residencies dedicated to the creation of new works, our Focus on Creation, will culminate in a series of free performances, with a voluntary contribution, dedicated to the local community. Among the many names on the program are the greats of contemporary dance: Akram Khan, the duo FLOCK, and Jacob Jonas return for the second consecutive year, while choreographer Adriano Bolognino will be back for his sixth creative residency. Joining for the first time are Peter Chu with Chuthis, the BC Ballet, with its artistic director Medhi Walerski, and creative duos Antonin Rioche and Emilie Leriche and Joy Alpuerto Ritter and Hannes Langolf. Also in attendance will be Maximilian Revell, whose project was selected for the Call for Creation 2024: Orsolina28 will offer him the opportunity to work on his new choreography, "The Party," through a three-week residency in its spaces.

At the same time, our Intensives, one- or two-week intensive training programs, will allow the new generation to learn from choreographers and dancers selected for their impact in the dance world. Kicking off the series is the 028 Summer Intensive, a two-week program signed Orsolina, dedicated tom the repertoire of Marco Goecke and Crystal Pite. Opportunities with choreographers such as the Flock duo (Florian Lochner and Alice Klock), Medhi Walerski (Ballet BC), Juliano Nunes and Jacob Jonas follow. In addition, a unique sharing experience with Ohad Naharin will allow GagaLab participants to immerse themselves in the discipline created by the Israeli choreographer. Each intensive (with the exception of the O28 Summer Intensive) will end with a free performance for the public in an effort to give back to the community.

Keeping with the theme, Orsolina28 is proud to partner with Moncalvo in Danza, the Monferrato dance festival. Not only will four festival performances be hosted in the Foundation's outdoor theater, Orsolina28 will also open its doors to the young dancers participating in the event, inviting them to its studios for their summer camp.

Cherry Notes Series, Orsolina28's musical program under the cherry trees, will also return. Nine residencies will result in as many performances, featuring artists of multiple styles and approaches. The audience will be invited on a time and geographical journey, ranging from the classical trombone melodies of Stefan Schulz (Berliner Philarmoniker) to the folk notes of "New Orleans America," through the jazz performance of the Masmas or the violins of the Hanns Eisler school.
