The Workshop The physical world of HUMANHOOD with Julia Robert and Rudi Cole
Step into the physical world of HUMANHOOD, where movement is not performed, but received. In this workshop, participants will dive into a practice that rewires how they move, sense, and respond, accessing a state of fluidity and precision through deep listening. The program includes complex, demanding choreographic material from HUMANHOOD’s productions alongside improvisational structures that challenge timing and awareness. This experience is not about copying movement, but about becoming available to it.
Guided by founders Julia Robert and Rudi Cole, dancers will explore the intersection of performance and research, arriving ready to shift the way they experience themselves as performers.
Julia Robert & Rudi Cole
Julia Robert and Rudi Cole are the founders and Artistic Directors of HUMANHOOD.
Since founding HUMANHOOD in 2016, they have created a body of work that has toured across five continents, presented at leading festivals and venues including Sadler’s Wells (London), the Venice Biennale, Festival Grec (Barcelona), SIDance (Seoul), and CINARS (Canada). Their creations have received multiple international awards and nominations, establishing them as a distinctive voice within the contemporary dance landscape. Their first dance film INFINITY, commissioned by the BBC, brought their work to a global audience, while their creations have also been featured on ARTE, further expanding their international reach. Alongside their touring work, they have been Associate Artists at Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona, where they have continued to develop and anchor their artistic research within one of Europe’s leading dance houses.
Their work sits at the intersection of performance, research, and human development, driven by a clear and ongoing intention: to expand how we move, how we perceive, and how we experience ourselves through the body.
