My plan was to disarm time. Yes, of course, that would be impossible in itself. But there existed different methods to attempt. It would be simple and definitive.
Yoann Bourgeois
The Players’ Workshop is a nomadic research space questioning living art and it forms the basis of Bourgeois’ artistic approach, serving the development of his activities. Yoann Bourgeois designed it to assemble a group of artists from different fields with a simple directive to “play with one another.” It establishes a research site and clarifies a singular relationship with performing arts.
Using games and trampolines, the collective approach of the workshop helps encourage the development of concrete tools to increase attention and encourage structured thought around the concept of being present.
The vertigo games attempt to break down for an instant the perception of stability, projecting upon lucid consciousness as a sort of sensual panic. The simulation games push one to become another. Delving deeper, participants will explore possible links between the two game categories. The method reflects the conditions necessary for play: free, separate, uncertain, unproductive and regulated actions.
The Players’ Workshop welcomes everyone, amateurs or professionals.

Yoann Bourgeois
Choreographer
Artist Yoann Bourgeois constantly strives to break down the boundaries between distinct artistic approaches. His singular method is embodied in physical passageways that highlight one-of-a- kind phenomena, pushing him to conceive of an extraordinary variety of spaces and infinite variations of movement. His universe of work is the product of a lifelong, permanent creative process that he sums up as The unreachable suspension point.
After having performed with a host of renowned choreographers, Bourgeois created his own company in 2010. From 2016 to 2022, he served as Director of Centre Chorégraphique National de Grenoble (CCN2) becoming the first circus artist named to lead one of France’s 19 CNNs (Centres chorégraphiques nationaux).
Dedicated to art that is radically multidisciplinary, physical and innovative, Bourgeois oversees performances, collaborations and workshops in all parts of the world. His creations rely on site-specific creations that build upon the energy and specific particularities of the surrounding environment.
