The program

This one-week educational program focuses on Marco Goecke’s unique and deeply emotional movement language and creative process. Guided by teaching artists Anne Jung, Fabio Palombo and Giovanni Di Palma, participants will study Goecke’s repertoire, familiarizing themselves with the complex rhythms, sudden changes of speed and unexpected movements that the German choreographer favours.

    Anne Jung trained at the Academy of Music and Dance in Cologne. Thanks to a scholarship from the Kunstststiftung NRW, she joined Ballettmainz and danced under the direction of Pascal Touzeau. From 2009 to 2013, in addition to Touzeau, she worked with Jacopo Godani, Georg Reischl and Didy Veldman. In January 2014 she moved to Nederlands Dans Theater 1 and danced in works by Marco Goecke, Paul Lightfoot, Sol León, Jiří Kylián, Medhi Walerski, Crystal Pite, Mats Ek, and Franck Chartier. Her work as a choreographer began with #onewithtwo for NDT Switch in 2016, followed by #twowiththree and #threewithfour for the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company. As a Dysart Prize winner, she was commissioned by Louisville Ballet and created #fourwithsix. Anne Jung received a nomination for the Benois de la Danse 2020/2021 as best dancer for Carnegie Solo.

    During his career as a dancer, Giovanni Di Palma performed works from Uwe Scholz, George Balanchine, Jiří Kylián, Mauro Bigonzetti, Marco Goecke, Glen Tetley, Jerome Robbins, John Neumeier, and many others from the classical as well as the modern repertoire. Since 2009 a key aspect of his work has been restaging famous choreographies of Uwe Scholz and Marco Goecke with international companies such as Paris, Vienna, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Poznan, Brno, Istanbul, Mulhouse, Sao Paulo, Tokyo, Toronto, and Beersheva.

    Fabio Palombo, born in 1982 in Germany, completed his ballet training at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart. Afterwards he joined the Ballet of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, in 2003. Under the direction of Sylviane Bayard, he danced in choreographies of Heinz Spoerli, Yourí Vamos, Angelin Preljocaj and Uwe Scholz. From 2004 on, he worked as part of the Leipzig Ballet, but also as a soloist in choreographies of, for instance, Uwe Scholz, George Balanchine, Mauro Bigonzetti, John Cranko, MacMillan, Glenn Tetley, Marco Goecke, Peter Schaufuss, and Yourí Vamos. Since 2012 Fabio has been working as a balletmaster and choreographic assistant freelance in Berlin and began staging Marco Goecke`s Ballets. This gave him the opportunity to work with numerous Ballet companies such as the Ballet of the Bolschoi Theatre in Moscow, Russia, the Ballett Zürich, Switzerland, the Ballet of Deutschen Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf, the Ballet of the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Italy and the Junior Company of the Bayerisches Staatsballett. He also was a ballet master and choreographic assistant for Goecke`s creation "All long dem day" for the State Ballet School Berlin, Germany. In 2016, Palombo once more worked as Goecke’s assistant for the creation of his "Nijinski" production at the Theaterhaus Stuttgart, Germany. In spring 2019, he took over the complete staging of the full length performance "Nijinski" for the Ballet Zürich, Switzerland and in fall 2019 for Marco Goecke`s company at the Hannover State Opera House, Germany. In 2022, he also began staging ballets by Christian Spuck, which led him to work with the Dutch National Ballet, Staatsballett Berlin and Finnish National Ballet. At the end of 2023 he joined the Staatsballett Berlin as a balletmaster.

Deadlines

  • February 5, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. (CET): Deadline for the submission of an application;
  • March 5, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. (CET): Announcement of the selected participants;
  • April 30, 2026 at 12:00 A.M. (CEST): Deadline for the payment of the tuition.

Costs

  • Application Fee: €40 (non-refundable)
  • Tuition: € 1.500
    • Early Bird, by March 19, 2026: € 1.400

Tuition includes:

  • Classes and workshops

  • Shuttle service

* Each application is valid only for the selected week(s). Once accepted, no changes or additional weeks can be added.
** The program is intended for students over the age of 18.

Cancellation Policy

  • In case of cancellation before April 1, 2026, a 90% refund will be issued;
  • In case of cancellation between April 2 and May 12, 2026, a 50% refund will be issued;
  • In case of cancellation after May 13, 2026, no refunds will be issued.

Orsolina28 has the right to cancel the Intensive in case of insufficient registrations or force majeure. In such a case, payments received will be fully refunded to all participants. In case of cancellation, Orsolina28 will not be able to refund any travel expenses incurred or international financial transaction costs.

Who Can Apply
The program is intended for dancers aged 18 and over, motivated to deepen their technique and creative expression in a professional environment.

Scholarships
A limited number of partial scholarships are available, based on artistic merit and financial need. If you wish to be considered, please submit a motivation letter with your application.

Community Life
Each participant becomes part of Orsolina28’s community. Classes, meals and accommodation are shared experiences, designed to foster artistic exchange and connection among dancers and choreographers from all over the world.

Accommodation
Participants live on campus in our Glamping, featuring geodesic domes surrounded by vineyards and orchards. Each unit includes heating, air conditioning and private bathrooms.

Dining
Meals are served at the Serra dei Limoni, where seasonal menus are prepared daily by our chefs using ingredients from our organic gardens.

Wellness, Pools and SPA
Participants have access to the Wellness Area, which includes steam baths, sauna and pools. In the morning and evening, enjoy our Gravity classes, designed to help dancers take care of their bodies.

Nature & Connection
The campus extends over 20,000 m² of green hills and cultivated land. Explore Orsolina28’s grounds between classes and discover a place where art, nature and well-being coexist in harmony. Take part in our agricultural activities and tours to learn more about local plants and take an active role in our gardens.
