Ordinary

"Ordinary"

Reality is anything we can perceive using one or more of the five senses: taste, smell, touch, hearing and sight. But, according to Swedish philosopher Nick Bostrom's “Simulation Theory”, it is possible that reality is simply an ultra-high-tech computer simulation and that the universe as we know it is an advanced digital construct overseen by some higher form of intelligence.
The idea behind "Ordinary" is to explore how two human beings can struggle, love and be loved, argue and communicate with each other. The piece is the result of in-depth research into how human beings are challenged by the environment in which they are created and how they find a way to deal with the fundamental problem of selfishness that characterises our species.
