Gaga for Therapists

May 24 – May 27, 2026

A workshop crafted to enrich your therapeutic approach and nourish your body and mind.

Designed specifically for professionals treating the body or the mind mind, Gaga for Therapists offers an immersive masterclass to explore how movement can deepen therapeutic connection and enhance healing. Rooted in Gaga’s unique movement language, this program provides a foundation for developing new perspectives on therapy, helping you enrich your practice while fostering personal and professional growth.

Whether you're a physical therapist, mental health professional, or bodyworker, this retreat will empower you to:

  • Develop kinesthetic empathy to better understand patients' physical and emotional experiences;
  • Explore mind-body integration, enhancing your ability to address interconnected mental and physical health challenges;
  • Refine therapeutic presence through whole-body utilization, improving patient interaction and care;
  • Prioritize your own well-being with a focus on therapist self-care, mindfulness, and stress management.

Through a range of Gaga and Gaga/metodika sessions, participants will expand their own movement possibilities, refine their sensory awareness, and develop an understanding of Gaga tools that can be implemented in treatment settings and daily life. Lectures and demonstrations will focus on innovative therapeutic approaches and connections between Gaga and fields of treatment. Large and small-group conversations will provide ample opportunities for stimulating connection, thoughtful reflection, and collaborative problem-solving. Through dancing and discussion, we will create a dynamic environment for discovery and growth.

Not a therapist? Check out our weekend GagaEden retreat from May 28 to 31, 2026.

Over the last several years, Gaga has been integrated into diverse therapeutic frameworks, including rehabilitation departments, senior centers and residences, programs for individuals with Parkinson’s, and initiatives for trauma survivors. Collaborating closely with medical staff, Gaga supports patients in coping with pain, immobility, and emotional challenges, fostering physical and mental flexibility. Through ongoing research collaborations with leading institutions, Gaga continues to evolve as a powerful tool for therapy, making this retreat a natural extension of our commitment to empowering therapists with movement-based approaches.

This program is open specifically to active therapists (aged 21 and older) who treat the body, mind, or both body and mind. We welcome therapists of all modalities who are curious about Gaga and seek to move beyond their familiar limits in their therapeutic practice. No previous Gaga or dance experience is required.

  • Ohad Naharin

    Read more

    Ohad Naharin is situated at the forefront of the international dance scene. After performing with Batsheva Dance Company and the troupes of Martha Graham and Maurice Béjart, Naharin embarked on his choreographic career in 1980. His works have been staged by companies around the globe, and in 2018, Naharin assumed the role of Batsheva’s House Choreographer. As artistic director of Batsheva from 1990-2018, he guided the company with an adventurous artistic vision and reinvigorated its repertory with his captivating choreography. Naharin’s work was chronicled in Tomer Heymann’s documentary, Mr. Gaga (2015).

    Parallel to his work as a choreographer and artistic director, Naharin has developed Gaga, an innovative and constantly evolving movement language that is available to both dancers and non-dancers. Gaga originated from Naharin’s need to communicate with his dancers and his curiosity in the ongoing research of movement. Gaga has revolutionized Batsheva’s training, enriched dancers’ interpretation of Naharin’s repertory, and emerged as a growing force in the larger field of movement practices worldwide.
