  • 108 Greetings to the Sun

The number 108 has deep spiritual roots in many traditions. It is considered a sacred and symbolic number found in various spiritual practices, such as yoga and Buddhism. There are several explanations for why people choose to do 108 sun salutations at this time, symbolic meaning: the number 108 is considered sacred for many reasons. For example, there are 108 beads on the mala (necklace/rosary used for meditation) and 108 stars in the so-called "sacred circle." This number is associated with totality, the universe and connection with the divine. Connection with the sun and nature: sun salutation, in Sanskrit Surya Namaskar, is a practice that honors and venerates the sun, which represents the source of life on earth. During the spring equinox, when daylight and night are in perfect balance, doing 108 sun salutations is a way to connect deeply with solar energy and the surrounding nature.
