The Program For the first time Sharon Eyal and Orsolina28 Art Foundation are collaborating for a special summer intensive! This educational residency offers dancers a unique opportunity to delve deep into the physical practice and creative process of Sharon Eyal. Participants will engage in daily sessions led by long-time dancers of Sharon Eyal Dance Company, alongside working with Sharon Eyal herself on a daily basis.

    Sharon Eyal danced with the Batsheva Dance Company between 1990 and 2008. Eyal served as Associate Artistic Director for Batsheva from 2003–04, and as a House Choreographer for the company from 2005–12. In 2005, she partnered with Gai Behar who's collaborated on Eyal’s creations ever since. In 2013, Eyal and Behar launched their dance company. Eyal and Behar created more than 30 commissioned works for different companies and opera houses, including the Paris Opera, the Nederlands Dans Theater, the Royal Swedish Ballet and the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. Their creations received several prestigious awards such as the German Theater Prize DER FAUST (2018) and the prestigious FEDORA VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Prize for Ballet 2017. In 2023, Sharon Eyal was nominated as a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters of the French Republic.

    Born and raised in Edmonton, Canada, Darren began his studies at Victoria School of Performing and Visual Arts. He continued his studies at the Boston Conservatory, and after receiving a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, joined Ballet BC under the direction of Emily Molnar. In 2016, he joined L-E-V Dance Company, where he has toured internationally. As well, he took part in other special projects of the creators. He also teaches workshops and assists with re-staging Sharon’s work.

    Born in Valencia, Spain and trained at London Studio Centre. He danced with Sarasota Ballet from 2011-2016. Whilst there he performed in works by Ashton, Balanchine, Nijinsky, Wheeldon, Christopher Bruce, Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor and Dominic Walsh. He then danced with Rambert from 2016-2022 where he performed works by choreographers including Christopher Bruce, Wayne McGregor, Hofesh Shechter, Wim Vandeykeybus, Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar, Imre & Marne van Opstal, Marion Motin, Andonis Foniadakis, Didy Veldman, Itzik Galili and Ben Duke. Juan joined L-E-V in September 2022.

Our intensive courses are experiences meant to be shared, as are our accommodations. All participants are meant to live on campus, where we dance and eat together.

Application Fee: € 40 (non-refundable)
Each application will be considered only for the week(s) for which the applicant applied, it will not be possible to modify, change or add a week once accepted.

Tuition

July 27 - August 8: € 1.500

  • Early bird:
    • By XXX: € 1.400
    • By XXX: € 1.450

Tuition includes room and board, classes and shuttle service.

* All applicants will automatically be considered for a scholarship.
** The program is intended for students aged 18 and over.

Cancellation policy

  • In case of cancellation by XXX, a 90% refund will be made
  • In case of cancellation by XXX, a 50% refund will be made
  • In case of cancellation after XXX, no refund will be made.

DEADLINES

  • XXXX 2025: Deadline for the submission of an application.
  • XXXX 2025: Announcement of the selected participants.
  • XXXX 2025: Deadline for the payment of the registration fee.


*Orsolina28 has the right to cancel the intensive in case of insufficient registrations or force majeure. In such a case, payments received will be fully refunded to all participants. In case of cancellation, Orsolina28 will not be able to refund any travel expenses incurred or international financial transaction costs.

SHUTTLE

  • On Sunday, July 27th the O28 shuttle bus will leave from the Torino Porta Nuova train station at 3:00pm.
  • On Sunday, August 8th the O28 shuttle bus will leave Orsolina28 at 10:00am for Torino Porta Nuova.

The ride takes about 1 hour, depending on traffic.
