Le Prefiche

May 11, 2025 – Jun 1, 2025
Le Prefiche

One of the projects selected for Call for Creation ‘25, “Le Prefiche” is a five-dancer work inspired by the “prefica”, or professional mourner, a figure deeply embedded in Mediterranean and Nigerian mourning traditions. Rooted in the choreographer’s personal experiences in Nigeria and Italy, the piece investigates how women tasked with carrying communal grief navigate their own emotional landscapes while embodying collective sorrow.
