"A nous ou a Jamais"
Between 2017 and 2018, choreographers and dancers Adrien Ouaki and Aurore Mettray decided to create "A nous ou à Jamais", a duo that reflects on how our choices affect our lives.
Their work explores a variety of human relations and proves how our decisions have an inevitable impact on our personal journeys. Sebastian Cuizan's musical creativity guides and accompanies the dancers through very powerful and intimate situations.
Biography
Adrien Ouaki joined the Academie Internationale de la Danse in Paris at the age of 16, graduating at the age of 20. He studied contemporary dance with internationally renowned choreographers, including Hofesh Shecter, Wim Vandekeybus, Ohad Naharin and Crystal Pite.
He has performed in many artistic productions: musical comedies staged by Giuliano Peparini, including "Footlose","Un Violon sur le Toit" and "1789 Les Amants de la Bastille"; several productions by the Compagnia Ezio Schiavulli; Raphaelle Boitel's "La Belle Helene", presented at the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris; a Dutch National Opera production in Amsterdam, choreographed by Itzik Galili.
In 2015 he spent two months training at a Shaolin Kung Fu school in China. At the same time, since 2013, he has been developing personal video and short film projects. His work "Dust Of Life" is included in the collections of the the audiovisual library of the Yad Vashem Museum in Jerusalem; "Contact" was presented in the official sections of the Frame London Dance Film Festival and Migrator Festival in America; "The Line" was presented at the Bucharest International Dance Film Festival and again at the Frame London Dance Film Festival. His latest creation "Wild" was presented at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival and at the Bucharest International Dance Film Festival.
